Katy Kimbro
Master’s Level Intern (Supervised by Dr. Tara Fox, LPC-S, PhD. License)
Katy is a dedicated and compassionate master's-level practicum student at Midwestern State University. She is passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths and overcome the challenges life throws their way. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and relational trauma.
Katy utilizes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) techniques, such as rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), to help clients uncover and address the deep-rooted beliefs that often lead to negative emotions and behaviors. She works with both adults and adolescents throughout all phases of life. Katy approaches each client with empathy, non-judgment, and a genuine desire to support them through their journey.
Before transitioning to counseling, Katy was an interior designer and airport planner. She balanced these high-stress careers while raising two young children and navigating her own mental health diagnoses. Katy is open about her mental health struggles including severe anxiety, grief, loss, career changes, and the demands of modern life. Her clients say she is relatable, direct, empathetic, and deeply committed to their personal growth.
