Jackson Reap

LPC-Associate

(Supervised by Jen Shotwell)

Jackson is a Solutions Focused therapist who utilizes a variety of techniques, mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. When working with clients, his first priority is to pinpoint the beliefs, thinking patterns, and actions that have created negative effects in the client’s life. Once these have been identified, it is here where the transformation begins.

By taking a holistic approach, Jackson seeks to guide the clients in understanding how various aspects of their life may be contributing to their current state of mind. Whether it’s nutrition, fitness, lifestyle, work, relationships, or family, each area has an impact and it’s Jackson’s goal to guide the client in becoming more aware of themselves, so that they can make the appropriate changes that will lead to a fulfilling life.

Jackson’s motivation for helping clients began from him having to work through his own trials. Having suffered through bouts of depression, lethargy, substance abuse, aimlessness, hopelessness, and anger, he understands firsthand how it feels to lack direction and/or hope. Through working with different therapists and coaches himself, Jackson has learned various techniques and habits that have helped him overcome his own negative thinking and faulty belief systems. Understanding the psychological components that drive people’s behavior is a passion that he continues to study and write about.
